Descendants Of The Sun

Wanna share you my FOTD from two days ago to attend my cousin in-law birthday dinner.

After skincare I put on Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel to prime my face and then I applied Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation (mine is #20), MAC Pro Longwear Concealer to cover my under eyes, redness & spots and set it up with Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre after I applied Amalfi blush on from Cargo on the apple of my cheeks. I wanted a clean, simple look so I didn't use bronzer. Still contoured my nose with Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough As Taupe though, because I love pointed looking nose. Next I highlighted the nose bride, cupid bow, tear duct areas, highest point of my cheeks with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Soft & Gentle using my fingers. Didn't do much on eye department, I only drew my eyebrows using Lunasol Brow Styling Compact and lined my eyes. I didn't put on mascara because a) I was in a rush b) I was lazy :p

Was it too plain for a birthday dinner?

Anyway, lately I've been head over heels to Song Joong-Ki's and Song Hye Gyo's newest drama Descendants Of The Sun. I enjoy watching Kdramas and really love some of them, but it's the first time a drama has got me hooked from the very first episode, I even watched every episode 4 times already. Why? I will explain it later, but first let's look at some of the stills... Aahhh~ my heart melts every time I look at these two~

Now let's read the story plot first
Shi-Jin (Song Joong-Ki) is the captain of the special forces. He catches a motorcycle thief with Sergeant Major Dae-Young (Jin Goo). The thief is injured during his capture and is sent to the hospital. Dae-Young realises his cellphone was stolen by the thief and goes to the hospital to retrieve his cellphone.

In the emergency room, Shi-Jin meets Dr. Mo-Yeon (Song Hye-Kyo) for the first time. He falls in love with her immediately. Mo-Yeon mistakenly assumes Shi-Jin is part of thief's criminal gang. He proves to her that he is a soldier with the help of army doctor Myeong-Joo (Kim Ji-Won).

Shi-Jin and Mo-Yeon begin to date, but due to their jobs their dates don't go well. Shi-Jin takes an order to lead his soldiers on a peacekeeping mission to the country of Uruk. Meanwhile, Mo-Yeon becomes upset that she fails to become a professor due to a colleague's privileged background. When Shi-Jin and Mo-Yeon meet again, they talk about their views on life and realise how different they are. Shi-Jin, as a soldier, kills to protect lives and Mo-Yeon, as a doctor, tries to save all lives. They say their goodbyes.

Eight months later, Mo-Yeon rebuffs the sexual advances of hospital chairman Suk-Won (Tae In-Ho) and as retribution is assigned to lead a medical team in Uruk. There, Shi-Jin and Mo-Yeon meet again.

Descendants of the Sun was fully pre-produced before airing which is a departure from the live-shoot production format that characterizes most Korean dramas. The drama is Song Joong-Ki's comeback project after serving his two years of mandatory military service.

Okay, now let's talk about why I love this drama so much. First and foremost it's nice to see SJK again. He's coming back with a bang and has this new sexy, mature aura yet looking cuter than ever. The story line is new and fresh compare to other dramas, the soundtracks are amazing and the chemistry between Double Song is palpable (okay I clearly read Fifty Shades Of Grey way too many that I could put palpable into my line lol). How Shi-Jin looks at Mo-Yeon, how he smiles at her, the kiss are making me crazy!! (I'm literally screaming on the inside now)

Everything feels so put together in this drama and is not the cliche, cheesy drama about rich man poor woman love story that dominating the Kdramas for so long. Not that I don't like that kind of story (lol) but it's refreshing to watch love story between a 'real people', I love watching something that at least felt 'real' although it's just a fiction. Like in most of Kdramas the we have to wait so long for the main character to admit their feelings, I love that both of them being honest and straightforward towards each other from the beginning.
If you haven't watch this drama, you must and I insist :D you won't regret it I promise.

Last but not least lemme leave you with SJK's adorable face :p
